Creating a form in WebForms Designer

About this task

To create a new form in WebForms Designer:

Procedure

  1. Start WebForms Designer and do one of the following:
    • Select File > New from the menu.
    • Click the New icon on the toolbar.
    • Use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+N
    A Browse window opens. This window displays all of the Publications in which you have permission to create a WebForm.
  2. Navigate to the Publication and Folder in which you want to create a WebForm and click OK.
  3. In the New SDL Tridion WebForm window that appears, fill in the following fields:
    Name
    the name of the WebForm
    Location
    The location to which the form will be saved
    Schema
    the Schema on which you would like to base the new WebForm

    Click OK to continue.

    WebForms Designer opens a blank form to the Default View.

    WebForms Designer displays the field type options in the Toolbox pane for the Schema that you selected. You can now edit the form. Refer to the following sections for more information about the type of information that you would like to add to the form:

  4. To save the form to the Content Manager, do one of the following:
    • From the menu bar, select File > Save.
    • On the toolbar, click the Save button.
    • Press Ctrl+S on your keyboard.
    • To save the form under a different name and/or in a different location, select File > Save As from the menu bar.
