Managing Projects

A project represents work associated with a translation effort for a single target locale. It consists of tasks running through a specific workflow. In many cases a project is a translation project, but there are other types of projects. A project consists of the following items:
  • One or more assets that are the basis for the work
  • A source and a target language
  • A workflow that the project will run through
  • One or more custom attributes that can be added to the project (for example, you can create a custom project for the business unit the project applies to)

Prerequisites

To create a project, the following items must already be configured:
  • Locales
  • Content
  • Linkage (if you are translating content; not necessary if you are editing an asset)
  • Users
  • A workflow
  • A workgroup (if you want to use a workgroup other than the default)
For information on this setup, see the WorldServer Administrator Guide.
