Upgrading your Trados Studio license

If you have an older version of Trados Studio and have bought an upgrade license for a newer version, follow these steps to obtain a new license code and activate the product:

About this task

When upgrading from previous versions of Trados Studio (2014 or later) to the latest version of Trados Studio, your original license will be automatically removed from your account. To continue using the older version alongside the latest Trados Studio license, you should consider purchasing a full license instead of an upgrade. Refer to the Trados Studio and Passolo license upgrade process KB article for details on older versions of Trados Studio license upgrade paths.

Procedure

  1. Deactivate the license of the older Trados Studio version.
  2. Sign in to your My Account.
  3. Go to Products & Plans > Licenses.
  4. Select the Upgrades Available banner.
  5. Search for the license you want to upgrade in the list.
  6. Select Upgrade. You are advised that the license is lost and a new one is issued.
  7. Select Process Upgrade.
  8. Go back to Products & Plans > Licenses to find the new license.
  9. Activate the new license.
