Adding the Multichannel Delivery extension

Connectors built on the Tridion Integration Framework enable you to publish Tridion Sites content to channels other than a Tridion Sites website, including to an external system. Implementing this type of integration requires the Multichannel Delivery extension to the Content Deployer.

Before you begin

This task has the following as prerequisites:
  • You have acquired the extension from your RWS representative.
  • Content Delivery is installed, in particular, the Content Deployer.
  • The Add-ons feature is installed.

About this task

This extension supports both textual content (in form of HTML fragments) and images, which can be either be native Tridion Sites images or images from an external DAM system connected to Tridion Sites. Use of this extension deploys connectors to the relevant third-party systems, including , Marketo, and social platforms such as Hootsuite, etc.

This extension makes it possible to publish and deliver Tridion Sites to a wide variety of channels, including email, social media, print, messaging services, and more. You can publish content either as headless data or in a rendered form to an external system (using a connector for that system).

Procedure

  1. Locate the following directory on your Tridion Sites installation media: Content Delivery\roles\deployer\add-ons\
  2. Download one of the following packages, as needed:
    • multi-channel-delivery-deployer-extension-VERSION-tcf.zip — a full distribution that includes Tridion Integration Framework and Tridion Remoting.
    • multi-channel-delivery-deployer-extension-VERSION-tcf-slim.zip — a slimmed version that contains only the Content Deployer extension. This version assumes that you already have the framework.

Note that VERSION indicates the Content Delivery version and build version of this resource.

When the extension is run, the ZIP file will be expanded into a folder with the same name as the ZIP.

  3. From the Manage tab of the Add-ons screen, upload the ZIP file.

For instructions on using the Add-ons feature, refer to the related topics on this subject.

  4. Restart Content Deployer to apply the changes you have made.

What to do next

From the Manage tab of the Add-ons screen, check the status of the uploaded Tridion Integration Framework extension. If deployed successfully, the Content Deployer will report a "Success" status.

With this extension added, you can build your own connector or purchase one of the following prebuilt connectors:

  • Tridion Connector for Marketo
  • Tridion Connector for Salesforce Marketing
