Software components installed by the Content Manager installer
Use the Content Manager installer to install both core software components (the default) and additional, nonessential features or legacy features.
Core software components

| Core Service | A service that you can use to interact with the Content Manager programmatically. The Core Service exists as a WCF Core Service and as a Core Service.REST. |
| Publisher Service | A module that publishes all content from Tridion Sites Content Manager. |

| Search Indexing Service | A module that indexes content from Tridion Sites Content Manager. |

| External Content Library | A module for exposing multimedia contained in an external system in Tridion Sites so that you can use the media in Tridion Sites-driven websites. As of Tridion Sites 9.1, installation of External Content Library (ECL) includes Tridion Integration Framework, a feature that simplifies the task of building connectors for integrating Tridion Sites with other enterprise applications. |
| Topology Manager | Topology Manager forms the bridge between the Content Manager and Content Delivery environments. By decoupling the two environments, it becomes easy to swap out environments on either side, and to separate concerns by specific roles in your organization. |

- Translation Manager

A module that allows you to send content stored in the Content Manager of Tridion Sites for translation to a translation management system. This features breaks down into the following components:
Software component Description Translation Manager service Synchronizes the translation management and Content Manager systems. The Translation Manager service reads Translation Jobs from the Translation Manager database and performs the actions necessary to handle the jobs such as localizing and checking items out, creating jobs for transferral to translation management system, copying over and checking items in when translations have been completed, and updating the status of jobs. Translation Manager extension of the Content Manager user interfaces Enables end users to initiate and track translations from the Content Manager user interfaces (both Classic and Experience Space. Translation Manager also includes a separate database.

Script Extension A feature to create Page Templates or Component Templates using VBScript or Jscript (supported for backwards compatibility) Queue Triggered Mailings service A feature to handle triggered mailings. Bounce Processor service A feature to keep track of bounced emails and to update the mailing statistics by periodically polling a preconfigured POP3 or IMAP mailbox account for bounced emails.
