User rights required for installation

Unless indicated otherwise, all installation tasks must be performed by a user who has logged on with administrator-level user rights to the machine on which the software component is to be installed. Where necessary, the user must also have full access to the Services for Internet Information Services (IIS).

There are two types of machines that need to be accessed for information and/or for setting up your Tridion Sites system, including the website and secure bindings.

  • An identity server/federation server necessary to allow Single Sign-On (SSO) access to the Tridion Sites system. This machine is typically owned by Corporate IT. As an installer, you may not have access to this server, however, you need to ask the administrator of this machine to provide you with security and user information key to the installation and setup of Tridion Sites.
  • A Windows Server-type operating system running a web server, to be used for the installation of your Tridion Sites system. For this installation you will need full access to the Services for Internet Information Services (IIS).
