Aligning file types

Starting with version 11.7.3, WorldServer includes a fix for an issue that prevented custom XML file type configurations with embedded content processing from segmenting assets when those configurations were imported as custom components (.tml files). If you have recently upgraded to WorldServer 11.7.3 or later, make sure you align your file types correctly.

About this task

This procedure applies to environments on which you have upgraded from WorldServer 11.7.2 or earlier to WorldServer 11.7.3 or later. If you are installing WorldServer 11.7.3 or later from scratch, you do not need to align your file types.

Procedure

  1. Go to Management > Linguistic Tool Setup > File Types and select the Embedded Content Processors tab.
  2. Write down the configurations for the following file types: HTML 5 and Microsoft Excel 2007-2019.
  3. Go to Management > Administration > Export Objects and select File Types in the Object Type list.
  4. Expand each of the two HTML 5 and Microsoft Excel 2007-2019 groups and check their configurations.A screen shot that highlights the two HTML 5 groups.
  5. For each of the two file types, select the appropriate group, along with all of its configurations.
The appropriate group is the one that has the configurations you wrote down as part of step 2.
  6. Select the Plain Text group, along with all of its configurations.
You should have a total of three groups selected: the HTML 5 and Microsoft Excel 2007-2019 groups with the right configurations, as well as the Plain Text group.A screen shot in which all three groups are selected.
  7. Select Next > Export.
  8. Return to Management > Administration > Export Objects, select File Types in the Object Type list, and then export all the other file types except for the three you already exported.
  9. Go to Management > Administration > Import Objects and import the .tml file that you exported as part of step 7.
  10. Do the same with the .tml file you exported as part of step 8.
