Exporting file type configurations

Exporting file type configurations ensures consistency in terms of content segmentation between WorldServer and other translation tools and eliminates the need to replicate your WorldServer file type configurations manually in other tools. Moreover, the ability to export file type configurations can also be useful if you want to make changes to your existing custom file type configurations; in this case, you might want to export them from WorldServer, import them into Trados Studio and make the necessary changes there. When finished, export them fromTrados Studio and import them back into WorldServer. You cannot export default file type configurations.

Procedure

  1. In WorldServer, go to Management > Linguistic Tool Setup > File Types.
  2. Select the tab which contains the file type whose configuration you want to export.
For example, if you want to export an Adobe Photoshop file type configuration, select the DTP Formats tab.
  3. Select Export.
  4. In the Export File Type dialog box, select Export.
  5. Save the file type configuration to a location of your choice.
