Checking in an edited document
This topic describes how to check in a document or graphic that was checked out for editing.
About this task
Use the check in tool that is appropriate for your editor to store an object in the Contenta database. This option is only available for objects that were previously exported and locked using the check out tool that is appropriate for your editor. When checking in, note the following:
- the data in the file you check in is imported into the object and rewrites (replaces) all data currently in the object in the project
- object’s locks are removed, and a project lock is applied
- if the object being checked-in is a binary object, the file is re-written to the database whether or not it has been modified. Binary files are not stored in incremental updates; instead, the whole file is stored, which may result in your database growing unnecessarily if no changes are made to the document
