Contenta client installation overview
Complete these steps to install the Contenta Client client workstation.
Before you begin
Contenta server must be installed.
Procedure
- If installing a Contenta Administration workstation (see Performing a custom installation), do one of the following.
- For Oracle database users, install the Oracle Client software—see Installing the Oracle client.
- For Microsoft SQL Server database users, install client software— see Installing the MSSQL client.
- Install the third-party XML editor software of choice (for example, Arbortext or FrameMaker)—see Installing Third-party editor software.
- Gather the information required by the installation program.

- Install the Contenta client software.

Note: On 64-bit Windows clients, if Java is installed under the Program Files(x86) directory, the user gets an error when running the Contenta_home/encaps/EditorSetup/EditorSetup.jar file to configure Arbortext Editor. To avoid this error, do not install Java in the Program Files (x86) directory on 64-bit Windows clients.
