Editor Check In Tool Procedure

  1. Select (click on) the object in Contenta Explorer that you want to check in then click the Editor Check In icon on your toolbar, or click Tools > Editor Check In

    where Editor is the name of your editing application.

    The object must be an object that was previously checked-out using the Editor Check Out tool.

    A window appears prompting for the location of the file to be checked-in.

  2. Navigate to the Checkout > editor directory that contains your exported data files and select the editor.xml or editor.sgml file.
  3. Indicate whether you want to import the data as described in the following table.

    • Import the modified data from the checkout directory
    • Unlock the objects
    • Delete the files in the EpicEdit checkout directory that were exported for the editing session

    The file’s data is split and imported into the Contenta database according to the DIMAP value in AppData for the Document Type of the selected object.

    Assuming that the editing session was done in a project, a Project Lock is placed on the object(s) that were modified and the object(s) is placed on the project’s Post List.

    • Unlock the objects
    • Delete the files in the EpicEdit checkout directory that were exported for the editing session
    Modified data is not imported; the data in the Contenta objects and the hierarchy remain unchanged

    Assuming that the editing session was done in a project, no project lock is placed on the object(s) nor does the object(s) appear in the post list.
