Reviewing files in the Managed Translation Editor

File review can take place at two different workflow stages: after the translation stage (the Review stage proper) or after the final review comments are implemented (the Sign-Off stage). You can review the files assigned to you either in Trados Online Editor or in the Managed Translation Editor.

About this task

When using the Managed Translation Editor, you cannot change the text, but you can add comments to it.

Procedure

  1. Access the Managed Translation website.
  2. Go to the Files for Review tab.
  3. Identify the file you want to work on. Depending on the translation workflow stage, the file is marked either as 'In Review' or 'Final SignOff'.
  4. Select the file to open it in a new tab.
  5. Review the file by doing one or several of the following operations:
    • Filter the content by using the commands in the Filter segments group.
    • Add comments to segments. Select the comment button (in the row to which the comment applies), write the comment and select Add Comment. You cannot delete comments.
    • Add global comments to the entire file. On the main menu bar, near the file name, select the File Comments button and add your comment.
    • Review the content by applying formatting or performing TM lookups.
    • Preview file.
  6. Select Finished.
  7. Perform an action depending on the review stage you have access to:
    • Review proper: Approve, Download Source File
    • Sign-Off: Approve, Reject
The task is moved out of the user's inbox and onto the next stage in the translation workflow. Users are redirected back to their inbox.
