The MultiTerm Administrator role

Only members of the Administrator role have access to the Administrator view.

This gives them administrator rights on MultiTerm Server.

The set of user rights associated with the Administrator role is fixed and cannot be modified. The first member of the Administrator role is the default user, Super User. To access a specific server-based termbase, the administrator needs to belong to at least one role in the termbase. However, that role does not need write access.

Administrators are responsible for:

  • Termbase administration and security management
  • MultiTerm user management

Users get access to MultiTerm termbases based on the roles assigned to them in the Administrator view. The MultiTerm administrator is responsible for adding users to server-based termbases and specifying the user roles and access rights to server-based termbases.

Users get access to MultiTerm termbases if they are members of a role within the Trados GroupShare organization where the termbase is located. Termbase permissions are granted at organization level. By using the MultiTerm Administrator functionality, you can further restrict termbase specific access such as language or entry class levels.

  • Users: The MultiTerm administrator manages the users accessing MultiTerm Server from one of the client components.
  • Restrictions: The MultiTerm Administrator uses the MultiTerm restrictions to further provide users with access to a limited or specific number of termbase layouts, filters, input models, import or export definitions. Restrictions are also used to further limit access to Language and Entry classes. Restrictions are termbase dependent.
  • Termbases: The MultiTerm Administrator manages server-based termbases and controls users' read-write actions to a more granular language or entry class level.
  • Termbase Objects: The MultiTerm administrator manages users' access to certain termbase objects in the termbase catalog.
