Cloud as Synchronization Storage

The cloud workflow allows you to export and publish your projects directly to the cloud.

Cloud compatible Passolo versions

To be able to work with cloud projects, Passolo needs the connector to our cloud offerings. This component is included in the Collaboration edition of Passolo and it is optionally available for the Team and Professional editions.

Cloud offerings and subscriptions

Cloud projects and resources are saved and synced to our innovative Trados cloud productivity platform. You can create and access cloud projects with a cloud account and an active subscription for one of the following cloud offerings:

  • Trados Live Team
  • Trados Enterprise

Cloud resources

When working with cloud projects, you have access to the Online Editor and to cloud-based resources so that you can work online, from any device and at any time. In addition, if you have Trados Studio on your machine you can easily open your projects from the cloud and work on them in Trados Studio. If your cloud account uses a subscription that includes sharing entitlements, you can also share these cloud resources with other members in your cloud account.

  • The Online Editor. This is the online version of the Editor view that you can open in a browser to translate or review cloud files on any device.
  • Translation engines. These include: online translation memories, online termbases and Neural machine translation engines. Having all these linguistic resources grouped into one translation engine makes it easier to create new cloud projects and work with linguistic resources.

Cloud workflow overview

The SDLXLIFF export feature allows you to export and work with projects in the cloud, giving you access to a secure environment, powerful tools as well as collaboration options.

The cloud workflow consists of four steps:
  1. Preparing your cloud environment. You can create project templates in the cloud, which are re-usable and easily extendable, and later use them for cloud project creation. For more information see Onboarding your cloud account
  2. Export your files to the cloud. Exporting the files automatically creates a new cloud project based on your selected project template and makes your data available for all your team members to work on. For more information see Exporting Passolo string lists to the cloud
  3. Work on your project. This step is the main focus of the cloud workflow where multiple team members can work on the same project, at the same time, using the powerful tools cloud services offer. For more information see Working with Passolo projects in a browser
  4. Syncing data back to Passolo. You can synchronize cloud data to Passolo to see all changes locally at the click of a button. For more information see Synchronizing cloud changes back to Passolo
