Installing the Archive Manager Modules
Add the Archive Manager Modules to the Content Deployer to trigger archiving when content is published or unpublished. The Modules include an instance of the Archiver, which actually archives the content in the Archiver database.
About this task
- Prerequisites for Archive Manager Modules
The Archive Manager Modules are installed as a set of Modules for Content Deployer. To run them on a machine, that machine must have the Content Deployer Server Role installed. The prerequisites for installing the Archive Manager Modules are the same as those of the supported version of Content Delivery. - Copying resources for the Archive Manager Modules
To add the Archive Manager Modules to your Content Deployer, you must copy a set of JAR files to its library directory. - Configuring Content Deployer
When you have installed the Archive Manager Modules, you need to configure the Content Deployer to hook up with the Archive Manager. - Configuring the Archive Manager
Thecd_archivemanager_conf.xmlis the configuration file for the Archive Manager. Initial configuration requires that you specify which Web sites you want to archive and the database in which you want to store the content. - Configuring the Storage Layer
You configure the Storage Layer configuration file of the Content Deployer in order to grant your Archive Manager Modules access to the Archiver database. - Encrypting sensitive strings
As it is not good practice to include sensitive data in configuration files in clear text, it is recommended to encrypt sensitive data using the command line tool delivered with Archive Manager. - Configuring Archive Manager logging
Content Delivery uses the logback logging framework. The following procedure describes how to configure your existinglogback.xmlfile for Archive Manager. - Installing the license file
You must install a license file that contains an Archive Manager license key before you can use Archive Manager. Licensing is based on CPU usage and the number of Web sites you want to archive. To install the license, you must have administrator access to the machine on which you are installing.
