Specific file types
SDL Trados Studio supports a large variety of file types which can be translated. File types can be used with their default settings or customized.

Specify how SDL Trados Studio extracts and displays text from the documents processed with the Comma Delimited Text file type, Tab Delimited Text file type, or any new Simple Delimited Text file type that you create. - Excel files types

HTML documents contain a lot of formatting, navigation and tagging information which you do not need to see or edit when translating them in SDL Trados Studio. Studio is configured to understand what content should generally be left out and what content should be presented to you for translation in the Editor. However, some of these general configurations might exclude important information or, on the contrary, include information that you do not want to translate. - InCopy ICML settings

This page contains the settings for OpenDocument Presentation Settings file type (*.odp,*.otpfiles). These documents can be created from OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice, Google Docs and IBM Lotus Symphony. - OpenDocument Spreadsheet (ODS) settings
These are settings for OpenDocument Spreadsheet file types (*.ods,*.otsfiles). These documents can be created from OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice, Google Docs and IBM Lotus Symphony. - OpenDocument Text Document (ODT) settings
Settings for OpenDocument Text Document Settings file type (*.odt,*.ott,*.odmfiles). These documents can be created from OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice, Google Docs and IBM Lotus Symphony. - PDF settings
Settings for PDF file type (*.pdffiles). The SDL file type software uses Framework Technology software from Solid Documents (www.soliddocuments.com) to convert PDF to Word. The translator edits the Word document and also saves the target file as a Word document. - Portable Object
File type definition for the localisation of Portable Object files (.PO) derived from GNU Gettext. - PowerPoint 2007-2013 settings
Settings for PowerPoint 2007-2013 file type (*.pptxfiles). - PowerPoint XP and 2003 settings
Settings for PowerPoint XP, 2003 file type (*.pptfiles). - QuarkXPress settings
Settings for QuarkXPress Tagged Text and CopyFlow file type (*.xtg,*.tagfiles). - Rich Text format settings

The file type Text is used for text files (*.txtfiles) that are structured by patterns of embedded text. These patterns of text are specified in the form of regular expressions. For text files divided into columns, see the Simple Delimited Text Settings topic. - Trados Translator's Workbench (bilingual Workbench) settings
Settings for SDL Trados Translator's Workbench (Bilingual Workbench) file type (*.doc;*.docxfiles). Trados Translator's Workbench is a legacy application. A Trados Translator's Workbench document is a Microsoft Word document in which bilingual content is stored using Word styles namedtw4win..., such astw4winMark and tw4winInternal. - TRADOStag (TTX) settings
Settings for TRADOStag 2.0 files (*.ttxfiles), as generated by SDL Trados Studio. - Microsoft Word 2000-2003 settings
Settings for Word 2000-2003 file type (*.doc,*.dotfiles). - Microsoft Word 2007-2013 settings
Settings for Word 2007-2013 file type (*.docx;*.dotx;*.docm;*.dotmfiles). This is the default enabled file type for these file extensions. - Microsoft Word 2007-2016 settings
