Mapping objects via Postman
If you want an RWS representative to perform the mapping instead, make sure all the prerequisites are completed and ask the RWS representative to provide the configurationID that you need to set up a translation job in Tridion Sites.
What is the configurationID?
The configurationID is a parameter which instructs Tridion Sites what Trados resources to use when the integration service creates the Trados translation project automatically.
What do I need to provide the RWS representative with?
configurationID there are several Trados resource IDs which you need to give to your RWS representative:
- API key
You receive the API key from RWS when you purchase a Trados subscription and an account is created for you.
- Custom field ID
You can get the custom field ID by selecting the custom field and copying the value of the API internal ID field. That is your custom field ID.
- Project template ID
You can get the project template ID by opening your project template, and then copying the end-part of the web URL. That is your project ID. Here is an example:
- Account ID
You can get the account ID if you go to Trados > top right-hand corner > select your profile > select Manage Account > select Account Information, and copy the value of the Account ID field. That is your account ID.
- Tenant ID
You can get the tenant ID if you go to Trados > top right-hand corner > select your profile > select Manage Account > select Account Information, and then copy the value of the Trados Account ID field. That is your tenant ID.
How does the RWS representative generate the configurationID?
Based on your Trados resource IDs (see above), the RWS representative uses a Postman collection to call the Create Configuration endpoint. The result is your configurationID.
How many project templates can a configurationID be associated with?
You can associate the configurationID with one or several project templates (via the project template ID). When you set up the translation job in Tridion Sites, under Default Workflow, select the project template of interest. Make sure you know the project template names and what each of them does.
To update your configurationID with other project templates, contact your RWS representative.
