Assessing translation quality in Trados Online Editor

You can assess the quality of a translation in two ways: either at a segment level or inline, in the actual text of the translation. In both cases, you need to specify an error type and severity from the Trados Enterprise quality model applied to the project to which the task belongs.

About this task

This feature is also available for Customer Reviewers who access Trados Online Editor from Trados Customer Portal.

Translation quality can be assessed based on the number of errors and their associated severity level.

The Assess Quality mode is enabled by default when you perform a Linguistic Review task or a Customer Review task which has the TQA enabled configuration specified in Trados Enterprise.

The Assess Quality mode is enabled by default when you perform a Translation task or an Implement Customer Review task which has the Confirm TQA configuration enabled in Trados Enterprise. Confirm TQA allows users to interact with existing TQAs, but it does not allows them to add TQAs.

Procedure

  1. Aprire il file appropriato in Trados Online Editor.
  2. Place your cursor inside a segment and start adding, deleting, or editing the translated content. Below your edits, select Edit Translation Quality Assessment. If you do not want to edit all the details straight away, enter a category and confirm the TQA. The TQA is marked by an exclamation sign and can be edited later.
    1. (Optional) Enter a comment and select Next.
    2. Enter a category, and select Next or hit Enter.
    3. Enter a subcategory, and select Next or hit Enter.
    4. Enter a severity, and select Next or hit Enter.
    5. Select Confirm.
  3. If you simply review the content and do not edit the TQA straight away, the system auto-fills the categories, subcategories, and severities. The auto-filled TQAs are marked by an exclamation sign. To edit an auto-filled TQA, select TQA in Online Editor and in the Quality Assessment panel:
    1. Filter the auto-filled TQAs.
    2. In the upper right-hand side filter, select Auto-Filled.
    3. Select an auto-filled TQA, select pencil sign, and edit its categories, subcategories, and severities.
    4. When finished, select confirmation symbol in the TQA you just edited.
    5. If the system auto-filled the TQA categories, subcategories, and severities correctly, in the TQA select three vertical dots, and select Confirm Quality Assessment.
  4. To delete a TQA, in the TQA select three vertical dots, and select Delete Quality Assessment.
