Task descriptions
Familiarize yourselves with the steps which can be included in Trados Enterprise workflows.

| 1. | File Type Detection | Automated | The system checks if the source files can be processed as translatable by an existing file type configuration. |
| 2. | Engineering | Human | Engineers extract the content from an unsupported file type and include it in a supported file type or perform other content-preparation tasks. |
| 3. | File Format Conversion | Automated | The system converts source files to an internal bilingual format for processing purposes. |
| 4. | Document Content Analysis | Automated | The AI component of the system scans the source files to identify the domains the content belongs to. This task works only if the source files are in English. You can check the results of the analysis in the projects Files tab by selecting the right-hand side |
| 5. | Copy Source to Target | Automated | The system creates bilingual versions for each target language. |
| 6. | Translation Memory Matching | Automated | The system matches the source segments against the translated segments in the TM resources. It is commonly known as pre-translation. |
| 7. | Machine Translation | Automated | The system applies translations from the MT provider configured in a translation engine based on the match settings there. |
| 8. | Generative Translation | Automated | The system translates your content with LLM resources. The Generative Translation workflow task is available only if your purchased the AI Essentials package. |
| 9. | Project Content Analysis | Automated | The AI component of the system aggregates the results of the content analysis performed at individual file level. This task works only if the source files are in English. You can check the results in the Content Analysis tile during Project Planning or by checking the details of the project Dashboard tab. |
| 10. | Generate Offline Package Resources | Automated | The project TMs and termbases are added to a translation or review package during download from the cloud environment. |
| 11. | Bilingual Engineering | Human | Administrators, lead project managers, and project managers can make changes to the project files before being evaluated for quote purposes and before any translation activity can begin.

| 12. | Analysis | Automated | The system calculates statistics showing the number of segments, the number of words per match bands, and cross-file repetitions. The analysis statistics are used to calculate the work volume and the quote. |
| 13. | Customer Quote Generation | Automated | The system calculates the customer quote based on the pricing model for that customer. |
| 14. | Customer Quote Review | Human | Project managers review the baseline quote, make any adjustments or add other costs, and then submit the quote to the customer. |
| 15. | Customer Quote Approval | Human | Customers approve the project quote. |
| 16. | Project Planning | Human | Project managers configure workflow steps and review user assignments for the entire workflow. |
| 17. | Language Planning | Human | Project managers configure workflow steps and review user assignments for a specific target language in the workflow. |
| 18. | Vendor Quote Generation | Automated | The system calculates a vendor quote based on the vendor order template for that vendor. |
| 19. | Vendor Quote Review | Human | Vendors review and adjust the automatically calculated quote, and then submit the quote to the project manager. |
| 20. | Vendor Quote Approval | Human | Project managers approve or reject the quote. |
| 21. | Translation | Human | Linguists translate the source content into the required target languages. |
| 22. | Linguistic Review | Human | Linguists review the translated content, and either approve it or resubmit it for correction.

| 23. | Automatic QA Check | Automated | The system checks if the translated and/or reviewed content respects the checks configured in the Project Settings section (formatting, spaces, tags etc). |
| 24. | Remove Tracked Changes & Comments | Automated | The system strips away any internal info the file might contain as a result of review, so that customer reviewers can access a clean translated file. This task automatically accepts all tracked changes, and removes TQA information and comments. |
| 25. | Customer Review | Human | Customer reviewers review the translated content. |
| 26. | Implement Customer Review | Human | Translators and/or reviewers implement the comments or corrections requested by customer reviewers. If the project is based on any workflow template, except the Flexible workflow template, select Done to move the file onto the next workflow task.

| 27. | Translation Memory Update | Automated | The system updates the TM(s) associated with the project with specified segments based on project settings. |
| 28. | Target File Generation | Automated | The system keeps the latest bilingual file and also produces a translated file in the native file format. As part of the Target File Generation task, you cannot perform any manual action, including uploading an *.sdlxliff file. |
| 29. | Desktop Publishing | Human | Engineers fix any issues around the layout of native target files or re-integrate content into the original file format. |
| 30. | Final Check | Human | Project managers perform final checks and/or upload the target files as ZIP content before delivering them to the customer.

| 31. | File Delivery | Automated | The system converts the latest bilingual file to a translated file in the native bilingual file format, and also creates a new version of the file. | 32. | Hold for Feedback | Human | Project managers wait for feedback from the customer or other stakeholders and, if necessary, can return the file back to a previous workflow task.
