To work faster, you can search for text in a file in the Editor window from the Find tab, in the Find and Replace dialog. Then, you can also replace search text.
Procedure
- Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
- Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
- In the Editor view, select .
- On the Find tab, in the Find and Replace dialog, enter the search text in the Find what box.
Note: Trados Studio saves the last 10 find strings during an active session.
- Decide if you want to search the entire file or a selection of text from the Look in drop-down list.
- Select Source to search the source segment text or Target to search the target segment text.
- Select Find to begin your search.
- Select Find Next to find the next instance of your searched text in the file. When found, matching text is highlighted in orange, in the Editor window, as in the example below:
Tip: You can also close the Find and Replace dialog and press F4 to find the next instance of your search text, or press Shift+F4 to find a previous instance of your search text.
- When the search is complete, the following message is displayed: No more matches found.
- Select OK to close the message.
- Enter any new search criteria in the Find & Replace dialog or select Close to close the Find and Replace dialog.
Note: Select Close to cancel your search at any time and close the Find & Replace dialog.
