Configuring Adobe InCopy CS4-CC ICML file types
Configure Adobe InCopy CS4-CC ICML file type settings to customize processing for this file type during translation or review.
Procedure
- To configure file type settings, go to:
- Projects view > Home > Project Settings, for the active project.
- File > Options, for all future projects.
- Expand File Types and select Adobe InCopy CS4-CC ICML.
- On the Common page, customize what content becomes translatable:
- Process unsupported file versions - processes Adobe FrameMaker files even if the file version of Adobe InCopy is higher than the version supported by Trados Studio.
- Extract cross-reference formats - extracts cross-reference formatting for translation.
- Extract hidden conditional text content - extracts conditional text that is not exposed in the source document. When this option is disabled, any the conditional text is in the file is extracted as an inline tags.
- Extract discretionary hyphens - the placement of discretionary hyphens is dependent on the structure and pronunciation of words in the source language, so usually you should choose to remove rather than extract them.
- Extract discretionary line breaks - a discretionary line break allows a word break at the end of a line without inserting a hyphen. The position of such breaks is language dependent, so you should usually not extract them.
- Skip tracking and kerning - ignores kerning and tracking tags. Kerning and tracking information applied to source text is usually too closely aligned to the source language text layout to be useful for the translated text, so usually you should not process these tags. If you do process these tags, then kerning tags are represented by <k...> tags, and tracking tags by <t...> tags.
- Process documents with changes tracking - processes documents that have tracked changes and extracts both the original and text additions for translation. Text deletions are skipped.
- Hyperlink extraction type - specifies how to process any hyperlinks available in InDesign pages:
- Do not extract localizable data - does not extract any hyperlink content for translation.
- Extract localizable data from common hyperlink types - extracts URL content and email addresses for translation.
- Extract localizable data from all hyperlink types - extracts all hyperlink content for translation.
- Extract file information – specifies how to extract document properties/metadata:
- Do not extract file information - does not extract any document metadata for translation.
- Extract file description only - extracts for translation only the text available in the Description tab of the document.
- Extract all file information - extracts for translation the text from all the free-text fields available in the document metadata. Number-text fields, read-only text fields and values from drop-down menus are not extracted for translation. The only drop-down menu values extracted are the values available in the Content Type drop-down menu from the Mobile SWF tab.
- On the QuickInsert page, customize the QuickInsert settings for the QuickInsert group for this type of file.
- On the Font mapping page, customize the QuickInsert settings for your source and target languages.
- Click OK to close the window.
