System administration
This section explains to system administrators and database administrators which tasks they can perform to manage the environment in which the Tridion Sites implementation runs.
- Maintaining the Content Delivery environment
This section contains tasks for maintaining your Content Delivery environment, as well as some advanced configuration tasks. - Managing a DTAP environment
In most cases, it makes sense to run multiple Tridion Sites instances alongside each other with the individual instances being used for Development, Testing, Acceptance and Production, or DTAP. This section explains how you move content or code from one DTAP machine to another. - Managing workflow
Your organization may impose workflow on certain types of content items in Tridion Sites. This means that such content items must move through a prescribed sequence of steps is known as a workflow process. - Migrating Content Manager binaries from one storage type to another
Tridion Sites can store binary Content Manager content in the Content Manager database, on the file system, in an Amazon S3 bucket, or in Azure Blob storage. Use the PowerShell cmdlet Convert-TcmBinaries to convert your binaries from one storage type to another. - Purging and reindexing data
Tridion Sites exposes a number of Windows PowerShell commands for purging or reindexing data in the Content Manager database. Use these commands to maintain your search index, and to prevent your Content Manager database from filling up. - Securing Tridion Sites
Tridion Sites supports a wide range of security frameworks to secure every part of its architecture. - Scaling Tridion Sites
Both on the Content Manager side and on the Content Delivery side, you can scale out your system to improve performance and increase the load to the system. On both sides, you can perform an unattended installation of the software: on the Content Manager side, run the Content Manager installer from the command prompt in silent mode; on the Content Delivery side, you can install normally using PowerShell scripts. - Uninstalling or modifying Tridion Sites software components
As part of maintaining your Tridion Sites environment, you may need to uninstall or modify Tridion Sites software components. This section explains how.
