When a workflow step is assigned to multiple users or to a workflow role that consists of multiple users, its corresponding tasks appear in the task list of each assignee. If you want to start working on one of those tasks, you need to claim it to prevent other users from making changes to the asset you are working on. You also need to claim tasks if you want to export them into translation kits, and then import them back into WorldServer.
About this task
When you open an unclaimed task in Browser Workbench or in Online Editor, the system claims it for you automatically.
Procedure
- In WorldServer, go to the Projects page.
- On the Projects page, do one of the following:
- On the WorldServer 11 interface, expand the project group that contains the appropriate project, and then select the target locale of the project.
- On the Classic interface, click the name of the project corresponding to the appropriate target locale.
The tasks of the project are displayed on the Tasks page.
Tip: On the WorldServer 11 interface, you can view all the tasks in a project group, regardless of their target locale, by clicking the name of the project group on the Projects page. On the Classic interface, you can view all the tasks in a project group, regardless of their target locale, by selecting the Tree view check box, and then expanding the appropriate project and each of its locales.
- On the Tasks page, select the check box corresponding to the task that you want to claim.
Note: If the project contains only one task, that task is selected by default.
- Select Claim, and then, in the Claim Task(s) dialog box, select OK.
