Complete these steps to transfer content to a LiveContent S1000D Mobile tablet device running Apple iOS via a wired connection to the server on which the content resides.
Before you begin
- The publication to be transferred must have been processed by the Mobile Publish Manager or the Contenta S1000D Publish to LiveContent S1000D Mobile tool to generate a .zip archive and packageName.library.json file.
- Apple iTunes or a similar file-sharing tool must be installed on the server from which the content will be transferred.
Procedure
- Connect the tablet to the server containing the content to be transferred.
- On the server, launch iTunes or a similar file-sharing tool.
- Select the Device icon (at the top of the iTunes window) to access the tablet's device options.
- In the Settings list on the left, select File Sharing.
- In the Apps list, select LiveContent S1000D.
From the iTunes window on the server, transfer new mobile content packages to the tablet. The right panel of this window also lists any existing LiveContent S1000D app files (such as audit logs) that can be copied from the tablet to the server, or deleted from the device.
- Select Add File, (which opens the location on the server from which you can choose files) or use Drag and Drop to copy files to the tablet.
- Select the .zip archive and the corresponding zip_name.packageName.library.json file.
- When the file transfer is complete, verify that the added files appear in the right panel of the iTunes window and select Done.
- Disconnect the device from the server.
- Launch the LiveContent S1000D Mobile app.
- Select the Settings gear icon.
- Turn on the File Sharing option and select Save.
The app displays a message indicating that publications not included in the existing .zip and the corresponding zip_name..packageName.library.json files will be deleted.
- Select OK to continue.
