Defining user access to file-based translation memories
You can password protect a file-based translation memory (TM). This is particularly useful if you create TMs that are used by someone outside your company. Password protection implies that you must define passwords for all of the available access levels. Everyone who tries to open the TM will be asked to provide a password (including the administrator).
Procedure
- Perform one of the following:
- In the navigation tree of the Translation Memories view, select the translation memory you want to edit.
- If the translation memory does not appear in the navigation tree, select Open from the Ribbon, browse for it and then select it.
- Select Settings from the Ribbon.
- In the Translation Memory Settings dialog, select Access Rights from the navigation tree.
- In the Access Rights settings page, specify a password for each of the available access levels. Whenever you or another user accesses the translation memory, you will be asked to provide the password.
- Click OK again to save your changes and close the dialog. Changes are effective immediately.
