Step 2: Filtering out dependencies from export

The second step of exporting content is selecting which item dependencies to ignore. This screen is different when exporting from SDL Tridion 2013 SP1 or later, or from SDL Tridion 2013 or earlier.

About this task

It is not necessary to filter out any dependencies, but the more dependencies you filter out, the less time the export takes. As long as you know that the dependent items you are filtering are present on the destination Content Manager and you do not want to update them, feel free to filter them.

Procedure

  1. Do one of the following:
    • If exporting from SDL Tridion 2013 or earlier, in the Select Dependency Filters area, select zero or more types of dependencies to filter out. Hover over the top-level checkboxes to see more information about this group of dependency filters in a tooltip. Expand a node to see the exact list of dependencies filtered by that node.
    • If exporting from SDL Tridion 2013 SP1 or later, in the Dependency Groups area, deselect zero or more groups whose dependencies you want to filter out. Hover over the top-level checkboxes to see more information about this group of dependencies in a tooltip. Expand a node to see the exact list of dependencies filtered by that node if the node is deselected.
You have now selected which types of dependencies you want to filter.
  2. Click Next.
The wizard proceeds to the next step.
