Multi Factor Authentication Support

Regular authentication requires a username and a password. In addition to these, multi-factor authentication (MFA) also requires a unique code generated by a third-party tool.

In TMS 12.7, multi factor authentication can be enabled in two ways:
  1. As an RWS ID user, you can choose to have your account protected by MFA by checking the box labelled Protect with Multi Factor Authentication on the My Details > User Preferences page.
  2. As an administrator, you can mandate that RWS ID users are authenticated using MFA by checking the box labelled Require Multi Factor Authentication on the system or organization settings page.

Accessing a system or an organization that requires MFA will force users to authenticate with MFA if they have not already done so.

Organizations that mandate MFA, and their resources, will not be visible to users who are not authenticated with MFA.
