Step 3 - Configure Trados resources

Before users can create projects from within Salesforce Knowledge (SFK), RWS representatives must set up the Trados resources, and the project templates in particular which are exposed in the SFK project creation screen.

  1. Create a custom XML file type for SFK and ensure that UTF-8 encoding is enforced for all XML content. The app also allows you to send any document attachment for translation. Ensure that any documents you want to be able to process are set up in your project template, for example Microsoft Word documents.
  2. Add custom fields to the project templates and make the fields dynamically appear in the project creation screen in SFK. Ensure the appropriate descriptions are included so that users understand why they are required.
  3. Create any project templates and configure the standard workflows you want to be available to the users in SFK. Any standard Trados workflows can process for your SFK content. If you want to check project scope and approve project costs from the SFK interface, you need to add the Authorization stage in SFK.
