Using Draft Space is very close to using a text editor. However, there are differences mostly caused by the higher importance of the topics' internal structure.
Before you begin
Editing document content requires the following:
- You access Draft Space by using a link that displays a specific document, sometimes centered on a topic of interest.
- You have general rights for editing the document.
- The specific topic has a status that allows editing. If the topic is released, you need to first create a new version of the topic before you can modify it.
Procedure
- If the link you use does not center the view on the topic of interest, find the topic by opening the Outline tab on the right-hand side of the page, navigating through the document's table of contents and selecting the topic of interest.
- Select the location where you need to insert content in the topic.
The insertion point can be inside a topic's internal block, such as the short description or a section.
- If you want to create a list, use the format tools in the horizontal Start toolbar, at the top of the page.
- If you want to create a section (a part of your topic that has its own title), select Structure in the horizontal menu, then .
A new section will be inserted after your insertion point. If it is currently inside a section, a section may be inserted outside of that section: in some topic types, sections cannot include other sections.
- If you want to insert a link to a web page in your text, select Inline in the horizontal menu, then and paste your link in the field.
- If you want to insert a link to another topic from the same document, select Inline in the horizontal menu, then and navigate the Repository to the location of the topic you want to link to.
Note: This requires that you know where the topic is located in the Repository.
