When you configure the content of a notification message, you configure it for all the messages of that notification type (for example, Issue Assigned or Task Due Date Changed). However, all notification types share the same contact user and base URL—the ones that were saved most recently. You cannot specify a different contact user or base URL for each notification type.
Procedure
- In WorldServer, go to
- Under Settings Common to All Notification Types, do the following:
- In the User to contact for assistance list, select a user that assignees can contact in case any issues occur.
Tip: You can usually mention this user in the footer of the notification message. For example: Please contact [contact user full name] ([contact user email]) if you need help or are unable to log in to WorldServer.
- In the Base URL for WorldServer box, enter the URL that users can see in the notification message. The URL is usually filled in automatically and the system picks it up when you save your notification settings. You should not change this URL.
Note: Your administrator should make sure that the base URL is not set to localhost. In most cases, this is not a valid base URL and users will not be able to access WorldServer by selecting the link in the notification message.
- Under Select Configuration, do the following:
- In the Notification Type list, select the notification type whose content you want to configure. The notification type is the event that triggers the notification message.
- In the Recipient's Display Language list, select the language in which you want the notification to be displayed.
- Under Configuration Details, configure the actual content of the message.
Tip: Use the available parameters to customize your message. The default text of the message, as well as the parameters that you can select, depend on the notification type you selected earlier. The parameters you specify are automatically replaced in the sent message by the information specific to the context of the message. For example, if you specify [issue severity], the message sent to users will contain the actual severity of the issue (High, Medium, or Low).
- Optional: If you want to see how the notification will look like, select Preview.
When you preview your notification, the parameters you specified earlier are replaced with sample information.
- Select Save.
Results
The content is saved for all the new messages of that type.
