Copying WorldServer configurations

You can copy the objects in a WorldServer configuration from by exporting them from one server and importing them into another one. For example, this might be useful if you have just set up WorldServer on your test environment and you want to replicate this setup on a production environment. You can import and export WorldServer objects either from the WorldServer user interface or by using the wstool command-line tool.

About this task

To copy WorldServer configurations, you should try to understand the following concepts:
  • Primary object – The top-level WorldServer object that you select to export. For example, a workflow, a user, or a workgroup.
  • Referenced object (dependencies) – A top-level WorldServer object that is exported because it is referenced by another primary object. For example, if you export a user which belongs to a particular locale, WorldServer also exports the locale as a referenced object.
