Creating an annotation

You can select text in your document and create an annotation, that is, a comment or suggestion.

Procedure

  1. Select Outline to reveal the view of the structure of the document, and navigate to the piece of content you want to annotate. You can also use the Previous and Next buttons to quickly jump to the next item to be reviewed.
  2. Select a piece of content you want annotate, and right-click to reveal a context menu revealing the options Add comment and Add suggestion.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To leave a comment about the selected content without suggesting a replacement, select Add comment, fill in your comment and select your annotation type (both are mandatory).
    • To make a suggestion about what to replace the selected content with, select Add suggestion, fill in your replacement text under Proposed change, explain why under Reason, and select your annotation type (all three are mandatory).
  4. Select Save to submit your annotation.

What to do next

Your annotation appears with the UNSHARED status. To reveal it to other users, you must share it.
