A Section Page contains four content items: a main article Component on top and underneath three items in a 3-column layout.

When you create a Section Page, new Components are created for you containing dummy content. You can edit or replace the content.

By default, the items included in the 3-column layout are from left to right:
- a company location Component
- the latest items Component contains a dynamic list of links to the last 5 Article Components that were created
- the teaser Component contains an image or video and a short piece of descriptive text about the contents

Ordering and positioning of content

The Components are displayed on the Page (from top to bottom, left to right) depending on the order in which the Component Presentations are added to the Page: the first Component Presentation is displayed at the top, the second in the first column, third in the middle column, and the fourth in the third column. An exception to this rule are Component Presentations that use the
[Hero] Component Template: these are always displayed on top regardless of where they appear in the list of Component Presentations.
Procedure
- Open your Web site in Experience Manager.
- In the Home tab of the Ribbon toolbar, click New Page.
- From the library pane, select Section Page and click Create.
- Specify the following properties:
- Page Title—enter the internal name of the Page
- File Name—enter the name of the Page as it appears in the browser address bar
- Page Location—accept the default, or click Change and select the section of the Web site you want the Page to appear in.
Note: A naming convention is used to hide or display Pages in the navigation: sections that use a numeric prefix consisting of 3 numbers, for example 010 Articles, are displayed, sections that omit the prefix are displayed only in the breadcrumb, and sections prefixed with a underscore (_) are not visible in the navigation structure.
- Folders for Components—if you want to store the default Components containing dummy content that are created when you create a Section Page in a different location, click Configure Folders for Components, select a new Folder and click Apply to confirm your choice.
- Click Create Page.
A new Section Page is created.
- Change the main article page inline:
- Change the image—browse to and select a new background image
- Change the text—enter body text, subheading and content
- Add media—add additional multimedia and captions
- Click Show Properties in the top right corner of the Component and in the Metadata section, click Edit. Modify the following properties:
- Metadata Description—used in search engines
- Short Title—used in navigation
- Intro Text—used as summary text

- Modify the Teaser Component inline:
- Change the Heading
- Change the Content (one liner)
- Change the Media Image
- Change the Link: external or internal link with text
