SDL MultiTerm Convert output files

File TypeDescription
.*mtf.xml

This contains the converted data. By default the *mtf.xml file takes the name of the input file and is placed in the same folder as the input file.

.*xdt

A termbase definition file describes the structure of your terminology data and is used to create the new termbase which will store the converted data.

.*xcd

The settings used in the conversion session can be automatically saved to an *.xcd file. The next time you convert files of the same type and want to use the same settings, select the appropriate *.xcd file.

.*txt

This is a log file for the conversion.

Multimedia files

Multimedia files that were previously associated with entries in a MultiTerm 5 or MultiTerm 2007 termbase.

A subfolder is created for the multimedia files in the same folder as the *.mtf.xml terminology data file. The subfolder is called media_filename, where filename is the name of the exported *mtf.xml file, without the .XML. For example, if your file is called TestConversion.mtf.xml, the folder will be called TestConversion.mtf.

After conversion, you must convert all multimedia files that you find in this folder to a format that is supported by MultiTerm Desktop.
