配置 PDF 文件类型

您可以配置 PDF 设置,以便自定义在翻译或审校期间处理这种文件类型的方式。

过程

  1. Decide for which projects you want to configure file type settings:
    • For the active project, go to the Projects view, and on the Home tab, select Project Settings.
    • For all future projects, go to File > Options.
  2. 展开文件类型列表,然后选择 PDF 筛选条件。
  3. Select the Styles page, to specify the styles which, once applied to text, excludes that text from translation.
    1. Enable or disable the available non-translatable styles, by selecting the checkboxes under the Convert to inline tag column.
    2. If necessary, add more non-translatable styles by selecting Add and filling in the style details.
  5. Select the Common page, and then:
    1. Choose which content becomes translatable. Select:
      • Treat special characters as inline placeholder tags to treat non-breaking space, tabs and hyphens as tags. If you enable this option, special characters are enclosed in inline tags. Note that the em dash and en dash characters are always treated as text.
      • Extract hidden text for translation to make hidden text available for translation.
      • Skip complex script and Asian text font to formatting information ignored for Asian text font. If you enable this option, the <cf> ('control formatting') tag is not inserted in the output text.
      • Skip advanced font formatting (tracking, kerning), to ignore spacing and kerning from translation.
      • Process files with tw4winMark if you want SDL Trados Studio to use the Word 2000-2003 file type or the Word 2007-2010 file type for these files instead of using the Bilingual Workbench file type. Usually, the twin4winMark style indicates that the file is bilingual and that it was produced from Trados Translator's Workbench. Note that if you disable this option, the Bilingual Workbench filter processes a non-bilingual file which has this style defined, the fie type produces an empty *sdlxliff file with no segments.
      • Extract Hyperlinks to make hyperlink content translatable.
      • Extract Alternative Text for translation to extract the text corresponding to the ALT HTML attribute for translation.
      • Apply Track Changes before opening to have tracked changes applied before opening the translated file.
      • Extract custom numbering to make numerical expressions available for translation.
      • Extract mathematical expressions to make mathematical expressions available for translation.
      • Extract optional hyphens to extract hyphens. SDL recommends that you leave this option disabled, because the placement of discretionary hyphens depends on the structure and pronunciation of words in the source language.
      • Extract contents of embedded Excel charts and sheets to make content from embedded Excel charts and sheets translatable.
    2. In the Document properties area, select one of the available options from the list:
      • Do not extract - This setting does not extract any file properties for translation.
      • All document properties - This setting extracts all the file properties from the Summary and Custom tabs, and makes them available for translation.
      • Summary - This setting extracts the file properties only from the Summary tab (title, subject, author etc.) and makes them available for translation.
      • Custom - This extracts the file properties only from the Custom tab and makes them available for translation.
    3. In the When an issue with inline tags is found area, select one of the available options from the list:
      • Continue with errors - This option skips the target segment where an issue with inline tags is encountered. SDL Trados Studio continues with the next segment and does not block the user from saving the target file.
      • Use source segment content - This option inserts source segment content where a faulty inline tag should be.
      • Stop processing - This option shows an error message and does not save the target file.
    4. Under Comments:
      • Select the Extract comments for translation checkbox, to make comments translatable. Usually, comments are not translated, so, if this the case, leave this option disabled.
      • Select the Retain Studio target comments in target file checkbox, to make comments available for consultation in the target file.
    5. Under Content Controls:
      • Select the Process locked content controls checkbox, to extract all the controls which are locked. Content controls are forms or styles, which, once applied to text, prevent that text from edit or delete operations. For example, your file may contain checkboxes or drop-down lists which the author set as locked, but which you want to translate anyway.
      • Select the List item values checkbox, to extract the values of the control items for translation. For example, the options in a drop-down list may have a value associated with it. This value is stored internally and, in some cases, you may need to translate it.
  6. Select the QuickInsert page.
  7. Specify QuickInsert settings to insert tags and formatting, or to insert text and special characters.
  8. Select Font mapping.
  9. Specify the font mapping settings for your source and target languages.
  10. 选择确定
