Using product family name and release name when publishing to Dynamic Delivery

A set of publication properties directly interact with Dynamic Delivery in order to better manage your publication version's visibility.

The Product Family Name and Product Release Name fields from the publication properties dialog (in Publication Manager) determine how your publications will be grouped and highlighted on a Dynamic Delivery presentation home page, like for instance in the Dynamic Documentation home page.

  • All publications with the same Product Family Name are grouped together. A publication without a Product Family Name is shown in an unknown product group.
  • The Product Release Name determines which publication version is the one displayed by default. The latest number specified between the () is picked as default. This can be customized.
Example of use:
Product name and versionProduct Family NameProduct Release Name
myProduct1 1.5myProduct LineMy Product One 1.5 (1.5.0)
myProduct1 1.0myProduct LineMy Product One 1.0 (1.0.0)
myProduct2 3.0myProduct LineMy Product Two 3.0 (3.0.0)
myProduct2 2.0myProduct LineMy Product Two 2.0 (2.0.0)
All the publications will be part of a single group myProduct Line, and myProduct2 3.0 will be the one displayed by default, and on top in the list of versions.
