Content Porter users can edit the XML file that contains mappings between export and import items. You can associate the file extension—.ifmappings—with an XML editor or plain-text editor to make it easier for Content Porter users to edit this file.
Procedure
- Start Windows Explorer.
- From the menu, select Tools > Folder Options.
The Folder Options dialog opens.
- Select the File Types tab.
A list of file types appears.
- Click New.
A Create New Extension dialog opens.
- In the File Extension text box, fill in ifmappings and click OK.
A new entry IFMAPPINGS appears in the list.
- Double-click IFMAPPINGS.
A standard Windows cannot open this file dialog appears.
- In the dialog, select Select the program from a list and click OK.
An Open With dialog appears.
- From the list of applications, select an XML editor or plain-text editor of your choice, and click OK.
The Folder Options dialog reappears.
- Click Close.
The dialog closes.
Results
You have now associated the
.ifmappings extension with the application of your choice.
