Notes on using the Search Panel

  • If one or several search columns used in a saved Multi-Criteria search is no longer available, your saved search criterion changes color to red. This behavior also occurs if the search is performed on invalid data. Hovering your mouse over the criterion in question will reveal the nature of the error in a ToolTip.
  • When performing a project search using the % Translated filter in Assignments > Projects for projects in a certain completion stage, always increase/decrease the filter parameters to include the desired completion percentage. For example, to find a 50.3% completed translation, perform a search ranging from a smaller value (for example, 49%) and a greater value (for example, 51%), not between 50% and 51. This is because calculated fields with decimals in the view get rounded up or down and when performing a search the exact percentage of the translation progress may not be found by the search.
  • Avoid negative input when searching for projects by Project Group, Project #, Errors, Total tasks, Tasks claimed by you, Tasks Assigned to You, Active Tasks, Untranslated words number. For instance, when searching for Project Group numbers within a range from -25 to 1002, all existing items are returned, from 0 (zero) to 1002.
  • Searching for multiple items in a Custom List field does not return the expected items. Searching for a single element will return the expected value. Moreover, searches must be performed in ascending order. A higher number at the beginning of the search string will return no results.
  • Searching for strings that are too long to be displayed in the UI (project attributes such as comments, HTML, descriptions and so on) does not return any results if the results can be displayed on a single page only. To display the correct results always perform the search using the text that is visible on the page.
