About clients

Clients contain two types of users: client users and client managers.

Client users usually work for the organization that requires translation services. For example, a client user who has the appropriate permissions can request quotes, can create projects, and can respond to action-based requests in WorldServer TransPort. Outside of WorldServer, client users can also request information about the progress of their projects and negociate the contract with the language service provider (LSP).

Client managers, on the other hand, usually work for the language service provider (LSP). Their role is to monitor all the projects created by the client users, to respond to quote requests, to create and manage projects, and, in some cases, to even create client users in WorldServer and associate them with the TransPort user type.

Clients can also be internal or external:
  • External: a group of users responsible for hiring an LSP that manages translation projects and hosts WorldServer.
  • Internal: a documentation, marketing, or business department within an organization that translates content.
As a WorldServer administrator, you can add clients and associate them with project types to organize your users and projects. After you add them, client users can create projects in WorldServer TransPort by selecting Create New Project. You can also create projects for them from within WorldServer by going to Assignments > Projects and selecting Create New Project.
