Creating translation projects
A project is created automatically in Trados when you create it via the SAP Commerce Cloud connector.
Procedure
- In the explorer menu, expand the Trados node, and then select Trados Projects.
- Select the plus icon (+) to create a Trados project in SAP Commerce Cloud, and the do the following:
- In the Name box, enter the name of your project.
- (Optional) In the Description box, enter a meaningful description.
- In the Due Date field, select a future due date for your project.
- In the Project Template list, select the appropriate project template.
- Select Next.
- Under Languages, select the source and target languages.
- Select pages, components, products, or categories.
- Select Finish.
- Open the project from the SAP Commerce Cloud view, and then do the following:
- Select the required content objects. At lest one of the content objects is required to start the project.
- Under Components, select the appropriate component.
- Under Pages, select the appropriate content pages.
- Send the project to Trados by selecting Create Project in Trados, and then confirming.
Please wait for a while before refreshing the project to see the following changes:- Under Trados Business Processes, a new business process will be displayed and used for the current project cycle.
- Under Status, check the status of your project.
- If the Start project in Trados is enabled, the project has been successfully sent to Trados.
- Start the project.
Shortly after you start the project, its status will change to Started when you reload the page and the converted files will be downloaded into Backoffice. The estimated time to download files for a project is based on the following factors:
- How frequently you have configured the
tradosProjectStatusCronjobjob to run. - Whether the project content has been converted successfully in Trados and whether the converted files are ready to be downloaded from Trados.
- The status of the project changes to Completed.
- The Trados Project Publish button becomes enabled.
- The files downloaded from Trados are attached under Trados Downloaded Files.
- How frequently you have configured the
- (Optional) Check the downloaded files to make sure that they contain the expected content.
- Select Trados Project Publish and wait for your changes to be published.
When the translated content is ready to be downloaded, the For Download status is displayed in the Status column of the Projects page.
