Magento prerequisites for Trados Customer Portal

You need to know your Magento credentials before using the Magento connector.

About this task

Make sure you:
  1. Have a service account for the Magento repository from your administrator. It is important to use a service account that is not used by users, to avoid password update issues. You need the following:
    • A Magento site URL
    • A user name and a client ID
    • Languages and language codes
  2. Pre-configure your Magento site (which has built-in language management) to support the necessary language structure:
    • Products on the root category are not displayed.
    • The store view codes must match the following pattern: <TwoLetterLanguageCode> + BaseStoreViewName; for example, de_customer_store_view or en_customer_store_view
  3. Verify if access to the instance needs to be established from authorized domains or IPs

The machines on which Trados is deployed have dynamic IPs (or a range of IPs); this might pose a problem when customers use the connector to pick or push content.

Procedure

  1. As a Magento administrator, create an Integration in your Magento account.
  2. Allow API access to at least the catalog section and the Stores > Attributes > Product section.
