Downloading packages per project

You can download a project package (*.sdlppx) containing the project files, either from the project Files tab or the Stages tab. You do not need to be assigned to any project task and can download the project package as long as you are an Administrator, a Lead Project Manager or a Project Manager.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Enterprise (by accessing this link: http://languagecloud.sdl.com/lc).
  2. Go to the Projects view.
  3. Select the project check box, and then select Open.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Go to the Files tab, select the check boxes of all the files you want to download inside the package, and then select Download Package>Split Package>Split by language (optional)>Download. To have the Download Package feature enabled, you must select files that are of the same type, either Translation or Linguistic Review. The package includes the files to be translated, as well as the cloud QA Checker settings, which are automatically synchronized in Trados Studio. The package may also include the project resources (TMs and termbases) if Administrators/Lead Project Managers/Project Managers enable the Generate Offline Package Resources step in the project workflow.
      • If you do not select the Split by language check box, the system downloads all the files, from all languages as a single package. If there are more than 300 files, you must split the files into packages consisting of a maximum of 300 files each.
      • If you select the Split by language check box, the system downloads the files in as many packages as target languages. If there are more than 300 files per target language, the system automatically split the files into sub-packages consisting of a maximum of 300 files each.
    • Go to the Stages tab, select the list view (The icon corresponding to the List view.) or tiles view (The icon corresponding to the Tiles view.), select the check boxes of all the tasks (files) you want to download inside the package, and then select Download Package>Split Package>Split by language (optional)>Download. To have the Download Package feature enabled, you must select tasks that are of the same type, either Translation or Linguistic Review.

What to do next

The project package (*.sdlppx) contains the source files (in native format), the target files (in *.sdlxliff format), the QA Checker settings, and, optionally, the TMs and termbases (if the Generate Offline Package task was enabled on the project). Only termbases corresponding to the language pairs of the project are included in the package.
