Editing project templates in exclusion scenario

Familiarize yourself with a scenario where, while editing a project template, you add a target language which is not specified in a workflow based on a custom workflow template. The addition of a target language must be understood in relationship with the possibility to exclude or include tasks in a workflow based on a custom workflow template.

Procedure

  1. A workflow resource has 3 languages (DE-DE, FR-FR, JA-JP). The workflow is included in a project template which has the same set of target languages. While you are editing the project template, you add a 4th language, namely ES-ES.
  2. The workflow resource is based on a custom workflow template. In custom workflow templates, the tasks can have one of the following configurations: Excluded by default, but can be enabled, Enabled by default, but excludable, and Cannot be excluded.
  3. After you add the ES-ES language to the project template, the following behavior is observed for ES-ES, depending on the way tasks are configured in the custom workflow template.
    • If the task configuration is Excluded by default, but can be enabled, then, for ES-ES, the task is excluded even if the task was previously marked as included. Edit the assignees, configuration, and exclusion behavior of the 4th language of the task manually and decide whether you want to keep it excluded or not.
    • If the task configuration is Enabled by default, but excludable, then, for ES-ES, the task is marked as included even if the task was previously marked as excluded. Edit the assignees, configuration, and exclusion behavior of the 4th language of the task manually and decide whether you want to keep it included or not.
    • If the task configuration is Cannot be excluded, then, for ES-ES, the task is marked as included even if the task was previously marked as excluded. Edit the assignees, configuration, and exclusion behavior of the 4th language of the task manually and decide whether you want to keep it included or not.
